So when the chart is trending in an upward direction, this means rates are trending down (lower rates = more savings). In addition, because there was a huge (worse then expected) trade deficit reported, rates continued in a downward direction. In addition, a stronger dollar can potentially lead to foreign investments into Treasuries and thus also improving rates. On a technical level however, I'm concerned about the gaps that were formed over the last three days. History tells us that gaps are generally filled and the fact that we've had a larger than normal gap, doesn't make me all that certain that rates will continue in the same direction.
